Find the sound you need.

Check out some of my work on the page below.  If you find a piece you like,  contact me.

"Music is the movement of sound to reach the soul  for the education of its virtue."                   -Plato

The Music is what it's all about:

I regularly compose music in a wide variety of styles.  Thruthfully,  I write when I can find a little free time (which can be tough) and when inspiration strikes.  Sometimes,  I'll have 2 or 3 pieces come to me at once,  and if I'm lucky,  I'll be able to get them completed in a reasonable amount of time.  Other times,  I have to take a gradual approach and write a part,  then give it a few weeks,  listen to it several times,  and wait for the next part(s) to come to me.

I'm available to compose custom pieces of music for virtually any production.  I am flexible in terms of time frame and compensation.  I have had my work featured in everything from HBO's "The Sopranos" to privately produced DVD's/vblog's.  Please feel free to contact me about licensing any of the below music in your production,  or if you'd like to discuss having music/sound designed specially for your production.

Oh,  and one more thing,  when listening to the pieces below,  it's important that you're listening on a set of decent speakers with a subwoofer or a fairly good set of headphones.  Even though these are mp3's,  most of my work is geared toward use in movies,  dvd's,  and television productions spots.  Thus,  I've mixed and written them fully intending to take advantage of typical home theater setups.  These aren't mixed in THX or Dolby 5.1,  but take real advantage of the low end available from subwoofers.  So,  while you can hear the pieces on standard computer speakers (for example),  some of the pieces might sound either lacking depth or distorted as the speakers try to reproduce some of the sounds.

Guitar Based

Melancholy :  An echo laden track with a smooth jazz/fusion sound with some Rhodes-type keys.  This song began from 2 chords played on the Rhodes,  and just grew into a brooding melody.

Electronica/Ambient

Bootup : A building,  electronic piece reminiscent of computer equipment being switched on.  This piece features electronically "distressed" slide guitar and various digital sounds with some interesting bass accents.

Gadgetry : Originally composed for a video documentary of a technology expo, this song has a high tech feel with lots of clicks, whirrs, modem sounds, and other "technical" sounds.

Construction : A mid-tempo song inspired by a drive to the beach. The first minute or so is the traffic on the way to the beach, the rest is the ambience of the shore; relaxing and chill.

Theopilus : An odd, mechanical tune. It begins rather disjointedly and emerges into a catchy, robotic groove.

Jungle : A dark piece with a gothic, techno edge. It begins with a hooky groove and then crushes with thunderous drums and raw guitar.

Espionage : A suspenseful sounding song with a 'drum n' bass' foundation and pizzacata strings peppered throughout.

Kickbeat : A straight up, big beat, club song.

Happiness :
A light, bouncy song. This is a very catchy tune.

Martian Talk Show :
A spacey tune with various 'galactic' sounds accenting the melody.

Soundscapes

Increased Decay : Dissonant and ominous. A steady progression of overlapping and often juxtaposing sounds, dense chords, and low end.

Redeem : Gradually blossoming and angelic,  these ethereal tones swell forward in an almost liquid fashion,  resolving in a major progression.

Factory : A sinister and foreshadowing industrial collection of textures that sounds like an old (possibly haunted) factory complex.

Guitar Alarm : Ok,  so not so much a soundscape as an emulation.  This is the sound of what a guitar player's car alarm should sound like.  I did my best to imitate those really annoying 6 tone alarms.

Dramatic/Cinematic

Mystery : A building,  shimmering piece with eerie,  rippling vocal beds and bass pulses.  This piece is reminiscent of a gradual revelation or discovery of something hidden.

Lullabye : A gently pulsing and echoing piece that ebbs and flows like music through a dream.  This piece features "strobe-like" piano,  plucked harp sounds with reverse echos,  and a subtle but deep bass foundation.

Anticipate : A foreshadowing piece emulating the tense passage of time,  as though anxiously awaiting an event.  This piece has rhythmic xylophone-esque backdrops,  with breathy, distant pipes,  and echoing guitar accents.

Snownite : A dream-like song with subtle rhythms, a distant pan flute, and swirling textures.

Sitara :
Atmospheric and airy, this song features a slightly eastern feel with effected sitars and echoing taiko drums.

Rainsong :
A gentle, melancholy song featuring delicate piano over traditional sounding strings like raindrops rippling in a puddle.

Sunrise :
A gradually building full string arrangement which crescendos into a lovely major chord progression with a redeeming spirit and feel.

Reminisce :
A light and cheerful melody featuring a meandering sax line over acoustic guitar, piano, and breathy vocal beds.

Serengeti :
A twinkling, echoing, world-type song with effected digeridoos, organic polyrhythms, and echoing melody lines.
